BoCHINche – New Small Plates & Brunch Items

March 11, 2016

My best friend actually suggested visiting BoCHINche for her birthday for she have heard so much rave about their brunch and their delicious Argentinean food! Diners can now enjoy five new offerings for brunch that are available from 11.00am to 4.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays along with a few new small plates which are available during dinner and brunch as well.

Located on the 2nd floor, you have to walk past the very crowded Common Man Coffee Roasters and take the lift up. I especially love the ambience of BoCHINche with the nice open kitchen where one can see how the chef prepares your food. See the number of plates queueing in line waiting to be filled with delicious orders.

Starting our brunch with delicious healthy juices; watermelon mint which is really refreshing and celery with pineapple if I remember correctly.

Watermelon salad S$14? I would never expect mozzarella cream to go well with sweet watermelon but this is a clever combination not forgetting addictive and absolutely refreshing. Topped with tomatoes and pumpkin seeds for that crunch! I am soooooo not sharing!

Sea bass ceviche, lemon curd, coriander and pickled radishes S$16. This is delicious but not exactly my favourite dish. If given a choice between meat and fish, it’s definitely meat for me!

Grilled pumpkin, braised kale, yogurt and house salad seeds S$16. I am no fan of greens but this is a clever dish for it can make the non-green eater me go for more than 1 serving. Eat the kale together with a slice of pumpkin and it will give the kale some sweetness. I feel healthier for having some greens while feasting. LOL

Crab and humita croquettes, spicy criolla sauce S$15. Another one of our favourites! Eat it on its own or pair it with the spicy criolla sauce for that extra oomph!

Classic provoleta, almonds and oregano honey S$17 is a vegetarian dish. IF ALL VEGETARIAN DISH TASTE THIS AWESOME, I will gladly convert! THIS IS A MUST HAVE and you HAVE TO and I repeat, HAVE TO order this! This is so so delicious it’s crazy! Sweet, salty and crunchy all in one mouth! The bread smells so good and it’s so fluffy we had to stop ourselves from eating more so that we can reserve our tummy for the rest of the mains that are coming our way!

Dulce de leche panckes, caramelized bananas, basil and baked ricotta S$19. Anything caramelized equals to MAG WANTS! You might be thinking this is just another sweet dish with slimy soft bananas but you are in for a surprise! The caramelized coating on top of the bananas is soooooooo delicious and added a delicious crunch! ME LOVE!

Organic poached eggs on toast, braised ossucboco and chive hollandaise S$25. I like everything from the poached eggs to the hidden mushrooms and potato ragout, all except the sourdough bread for it’s a tad too tough. It was almost impossible to cut through the bread. I was wondering if it’s because we took quite some time photographing it.

That’s the handsome Head Chef, Fabrice Mergalet, making our next dish Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, grilled peppers salad and our sea black pudding S$26. Sea black pudding?? I had to ask Chef what this is and he said this black looking sausage is made up of mixture of fish, squid, lemon juice and squid ink. Pretty interesting taste and something different which we kinda enjoy. Oh and those scrambled eggs? YUMMY!

Faina and fried eggs with crushed avocado, coriander and Aji molido creme fraiche S$22. Avocado fans rejoice and my bestie loves this dish a lot for she is a huge fan of the avocado fruit!

For desserts, we have Waffles, mango compote, chocolate crumble and coconut ice cream S$19. I love the homemade coconut ice cream and eat it with the chocolate crumble for the extra crunch! There is something addictive about that mango compote too and eat it together with the coconut ice cream and you are in for a surprise! Love how different unexpected ingredients are put together for that delicious surprise!

If you order the Brioche french toast, house cooked ham and bacon ice cream S$20 you’ll get to try this delicious crunchy ham and bacon ice cream too! If you would like to try this interesting bacon ice cream on its own, you can also order a scoop for just S$5! Can I order like a whole bowl with maybe 8 scoops?
