I am hating myself so much because I was given the once in a lifetime opportunity to interview the main casts from The Phantom Of The Opera and I couldn’t make it. I will love to interview The Phantom himself, go backstage and see the rest of the crews and props. ARGHHHH… Nevertheless, thank you BASE Entertainment for the invite! I was seated about 10 rows away from the stage and had passes for the after party! Even though its been a week since I watched the musical, it still gives me that goosebumps each time I recall the scenes. Such intense emotions with everyone in standing ovation! It is no wonder this is the longest running show on Broadway and also the world’s most successful and popular musical!
Synopsis: The Phantom Of The Opera is a heart-wrenching story of the mysterious, hideously disfigured Phantom who lives beneath the Paris Opera House, and his obsession with the young singer Christine. Disguised as the ‘Angel of Music’ he devotes himself to creating a new opera star, and winning her love from his rival Raoul, while exercising a reign of terror over the Opera House.
With 130 cast, crew and orchestra members, jaw-dropping scenery, breathtaking special effects, and more than 230 stunning costumes, The Phantom Of The Opera contains some of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most famous and stirring music. I used to watch the movie back in 2004 and sang along to the music but nothing beats seeing it LIVE! I also remembered my organ exam piece was the theme song from The Phantom Of The Opera. It was definitely emotional for me. The Phantom Of The Opera felt like an old friend.
