The mister and I are fans of boxy cars but the Volkswagen New Jetta Highline is one of the cars he has been eyeing so you can imagine his excitement to help review this car. The Jetta is one of the world’s most successful sedans with over 14 million units sold since 1979. Last year alone, Volkswagen delivered over 920,000 units – this makes the Jetta one of the top selling cars of Volkswagen!
The new Jetta that has been extensively redesigned and re-engineered was launched on 14 March 2015. Designers created new front and rear designs with optional xenon headlights and LED tail lights with new tyres improve rolling resistance. Just look at the new model exuding that sophistication with new instruments, steering wheel and upgraded materials.
The Jetta Highline comes with an upmarket ‘Corn Silk Beige’ interior with a host of desirable features including cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control and a multifunction steering wheel. I can’t wait to tour you around this cool car that even my parents approved! Ooh yes, we brought my folks out and more on that later.
The instrument layout is particularly clear. The left hand ergonomically meets the gear lever, and just above it are the centre console controls for the climate control system and the radio or radionavigation system; the console is slightly angled towards the driver here for a cockpit layout that ideally meets the driver’s needs.
I am impressed with how lady-friendly this new Jetta Highline is. You know how every sun-shade has a mirror at the back, this one comes with an automatic sensor activating the light above. Now you don’t have to worry about touching up that make-up in the dark or having makeup heavier than the other side. #onlywomencanrelatetothis hahaaa
This illuminated glove compartment with cooling function allows you to keep your drinks cool! Super cool isn’t it? No one has to drink hot drinks in this burning hot weather!
With the push of one button, you can control the locking/un-locking for all the doors. Easy peasy! The twist on the knob allows you to control the angle of the side mirrors. All at your convenience!
New front-end design Volkswagen has restyled the front and rear of the Jetta while improving its aerodynamic properties. At the front, the latest design of the sporty sedan can be immediately recognised by its redesigned radiator grille with three cross fins, optional bi-xenon headlights with cornering, turn signal and LED daytime driving lights as well as a new bumper. The bi-xenon headlights have an especially distinctive design.
The daytime running light is formed by 15 LEDs arranged in an L-shaped string alongside and beneath the xenon module, and they generate an unmistakable light signature, day and night. A chrome element between the LED daytime running lights and the xenon module accentuates the headlights.
LED turn signal lights are effective to other road users for it preamps them of the driver intention be it changing lane or turning. It is very useful especially when another car is directly on your side for it is impossible for them to view the front or rear signal lights thus this function enhance safety and visibility.
The boot is very spacious and I kid you not for my luggage is XL in size. The boot can also be opened by remote unlocking from inside the car. The rear bench seat has a 40/60 split; this increases versatility. If you require bigger space, you can easily bring the seat down with a push of the lever.
One of the many strengths of the Jetta is its interior with the sophisticated beige leather seats giving all passengers a luxurious feel. The rear aircon is perfect for passengers seating at the back especially with our killer-hot-weather! The ample space gives us enough leg room for me and my folks. My mum loves bringing her water bottle out and with the rear arm rest doubling as drink holders, she can easily store her bottle in it. Brilliant!
This Jetta Highline sound insulation is amazing! We drove around with my folks and were having such a good time singing inside the car for the noise outside is barely noticeable; even my dad is full of praise and in awe! Even with full load of 4 people, this Jetta Highline is still very responsive and you don’t feel any lag of power. With the hill hold control, even if you are alone on a slope or with your loved ones, you do not have to worry about the car rowing backwards when you release brake.
We even challenge this cool Volkswagen Jetta Highline to an artistic backdrop and still it does not pale in comparison but shines in all artsy! We had so much fun driving this baby around town. Thank you for having us and till next time!

Hi,
Thanks for valuable sharing about the new Jetta 2015. What is your experience in mechanical part (i.e. DSG)? Heard from many people about the DSG issue in Jetta. Appreciate your sharing about that DSG on your Jetta.
Cheers
Hi, gear changing was smooth and understand from VW that the DSG issue has been rectified. Thanks for reading the blog. =]
Hello,
How long have you drive your current Jetta? What is your own experience with the DSG gearbox? Touch wood….has the DSG fail you since you bought it until now?
Thanks
