The truth behind the DRx Saga – speaking up… finally! Everytime I blog about something sad, upsetting or angry, everybody starts questioning and telling me that Modgam is so positive and happy and what happen etc. I am only human and yes, I may be relatively happy and positive but I am anal about some stuffs. In this case; respect, manners and customer service! #iamonlyhuman
I wanted to do a printscreen blog post of the DRx saga and what really happen but have decided not to. I don’t need pictures of conversations to show what went on and how things have become. I thank them for my great skin and the good products but that was before the previous marketing incharge, C, left. After C left, things started to go downhill. We don’t get regular sms or emails pertaining to our consultation. When I request for a facial because I notice my skin has been so dry it’s starting to peel, I get replies like this isn’t C times, you have to see doc and doc will tell if you can have facial. HUH? C doesn’t give us facial cos we request but he LISTENS to us and get doc to check our face before prescribing. Marketing people talking and replying emails like that gives me the BLEAH!!! #whyubecomesosucky
I am known to many as Modgam and readers would probably not know my name is Mag right? From what I know it’s been agreed that I will let readers know to quote ‘Modgam’ to get 3 FOC consultations thus I have been religiously doing that UNTIL a reader came to me and told me they say there is no such person. No Modgam with them. WTF! The reader said Mag, Modgam and they insisted I am not with them and the reader went on to quote another blogger name!
I then had to write in and J told me it has always been ‘Blogger Magdalene’. WHAT?? Fine, I then explain to her that readers might not know who Magdalene is as they know me as Modgam and guess what? Her reply: I am sorry to inform you that we can’t make the changes. It is fixed in our system. Much appreciate if you can change it from yourside. Unfortunately, the management has decided to fix a term and conditions to it. As when your promotion will expires, let me check with the new Sales & Marketing Manager and I shall get back to you.
Wah, if I didn’t wrote an email to ask, I won’t even know the management has made changes to the terms & conditions! HELLOOOO??? Marketing leh and so not flexible??!? I can change to ‘Blogger Magdalene’ no problem but I doubt my readers will use that. I mean from a marketing person point of view, you want to earn money no? Why would changing a name be so difficult on your end as long as it’s the name that brings in the sale? Anyhow this is not all.
I was wondering why for 2 months while I have been replying emails and queries from readers and friends on DRx, there was absolutely no news from them! I asked fellow bloggers who are with DRx and they told me there is a new lady taking over J. They say they didn’t know till they wrote in too. AGAIN, I had to write in to ask who this new lady was and how to contact her. Where is the professionalism??
I wrote in to the new lady, Brenda, but guess what? NO REPLY! They have time to update their FB page but don’t have the courtesy to reply emails? I TAKE PRIDE in representing DRx but it’s obvious they don’t give a damn about us. If you no longer wish to have us current bloggers onboard, HAVE THE DECENCY to update us. GIVE US THE BASIC RESPECT that we deserve for we have been giving our best to help sell your brand and product with our good blog post and updates!
I spoke to a few fellow DRx bloggers and they too didn’t get any reply from them. Some ridiculous updates I heard was one went down only to know today is her last consultation and she will no longer be with DRx! WTF! Like seriously?? You just used us and dump us? DRx NO ONE TAUGHT YOU BASIC RESPECT?? Another update I heard was for another blogger to head down to DRx for the last time to replenish all her stocks and leave! YOU ARE KIDDING ME RIGHT DRx??!
I am not judging anyone or any bloggers for this is entirely up to oneself. I just feel that anyone who has that little dignity left would have left DRx instead of being treated like sh*t! I know that many of us have. #yousureyouwanttopissoffsomanybloggers I asked my friend who I referred to DRx to help me buy a bottle of toner when he went for his appointment. I can jolly well afford to pay than to be treated like shit! I would like to keep some of my dignity and pride left, thank you very much!
I took myself out for I don’t like how they are treating me and other bloggers. I have decided not to be sponsored by them no more. I don’t appreciate not having my skin cared for in months nor have enough products to use. I wasn’t even contacted nor know who the new in-charge is. I don’t think it’s fair that I am tied down by them and not being able to accept any other product reviews. #bloggernotbeggar
I am grateful to have a chance to work with C this time again. Why? SIMPLE! Because he knows how to treat a person right; with manners and respect! He respects that some of us have full time job and tries his best to schedule us. He makes time to talk to us and understand our skin issues and problems. I am grateful to C having worked with him since the day I was with DRx but now that he has left, ITS YOUR LOSS DRx. Ask any DRx bloggers and they will rave about C. I guess it’s pretty clear why he is a favourite!
It is not easy being a blogger and while many thinks wow, you get this free and that free. Do you also see that they are many other things that we are thrown at and that we can’t freely talk about? I am grateful to DRx, my doctor and the lovely staff but I believe C played a very big part in making my journey with DRx so enjoyable. I don’t take things/sponsorship that I cannot commit to nor have the confident to write about. I am not one that takes anything and everything free or comes my way.
p/s: TILL TODAY, there is still no reply from DRx. They are still engaging bloggers. OH WELL…
Disclaimer: Written entirely out of what I encounter because I wanted a closure with DRx and to let readers and friends know what exactly happen instead of going through this same story over and over again. Its time to let go of the super WTF urghhhhh fweeling.

Wow what a crazy way to handle publicity/or lack of in their case – really bad way to deal with you and other bloggers. It’s gotten so tough over here with companies all going through recruitment style middle men websites to give out samples and they have more requirements, changing them all the time. It’s ridiculous – they don’t realize anymore the the publicity they get from blogs is far far cheaper than paid promotion/advertising and blog posts spread further on the net. Yet they act like they’re doing us a favour for one item, instead of a two way process. Plus the bloggers who get the samples now are the ones who write mini, half hearted reviews, do tons of competitions instead with the products they receive to build up followers and follow each other. The quality of your reviews are much better for example.
You are too kind dd and yes, i agree with so many points of yours! It is so much cheaper to advertise on our blogs and there are bloggers like us who really go all out in reviewing and baring our skin to share with our readers. And yet, DRx not only not appreciate us but treat us like dirt. There isnt any basic respect given. Despite not receiving news from them, i still had to swallow that pride and still answer readers’ queries and show my face off as a proud DRx blogger! Who can we share or tell these frustrations to? I feel so much better now that I am able to let it all out!
