I visited Symmetry a few times on my own with my friends for brunch and the reason for our returning visits is the standard of the food cos its always the same or better each time we makan there. So when Clara invited me to join her for a tasting this time, I was more than happy to oblige.

symmetry truffle fries

My MUST HAVE each time we visit Symmetry is the damn delicious and big portion Truffle Fries S$15. It’s the first thing we will order and while waiting for the rest of the food, we will pig it out and fight for the fries. Hahaa anyway don’t be surprised for following this is the rest of the appetizers that I got to try.

Crispy Baby Squid with black pepper aioli S$17 is crispy and addictive me like! I find the portion a little too small though. Want to make a guess what this red thingy is? I thought it was some gooey meat or watermelon like but it turns out to be tuna! Yes, this is Tuna Ceviche S$17 and how can something this tiny taste so delicious with an outburst of flavours.

Asparagus fries? Fried Asparagus? This is the first time I am seeing something like this and but to my surprise Asparagus Soldiers S$16 is very tasty and juicy. I guess this is healthier than eating fries and dip it into the poached egg, shiok! Tomatoes S$21 filled with burrata cheese, black olive drizzled with honey citrus emulsion is by far the most delicious tomatoes I’ve ever tasted and I don’t even like them as fruits. Mushroom Ducelle Beignet S$15 has got to be my favourite for the night for each ball is stuffed with mushrooms! Another favourite from their starters is this last dish Black Angus Steak Tartar S$21 where you dip the ciabatta into the pickled egg yolk and eat it together with beef tartar. VERY delicious!

Yes, I am still raving at starters! Imagine the mains!

Hokkaido Scallop S$24 cooked with squid, potato mousseline, chorizo and almond! Scallop is juicy and generous in portion! We have finally come to the end of our starters. More goodness to come!

For the mains, we have BBQ Pork Belly S$31 with nashi pear and red cabbage slaw, berries mustard and potato mousseline is cooked to perfection! So good you would want another plate of this! Beef Flanks Steak S$31 doesn’t look too appealing to me with the spinach, egg and anchovies and I was like erm till I saw the beef flank. I tried a mouthful and oh boy, give me some more! I lost track of my favourites since this next dish is also really delicious, Duck Risotto S$32, crispy and tender! This dish is served with pan-seared foie gras, Portobello mushroom and spiced duck jus… tooooo delicious to handle!

Tempting you with another picture of my very favourite Duck Risotto S$32.

Braised for 58 hours, this explains why the Beef Short Ribs S$36 is so tender and juicy. Eat it on its own or paired it with the creamy mashed potatoes.

My favourite dessert for the night has to be this chocolicious Chocolate Bar S$15! This flourless chocolate cake is not only pretty but oh-so-delicious too. Definitely a must have for all chocolate lovers!

This creative looking dessert Rice S$14 is actually vanilla rice pudding served with apricot, homemade ice cream, earl grey jelly and pecan nuts. I love it for its really sweet and it looks tastier than the outlook.

Reconstructed Lemon tart S$13; lemon curd, yuzu gel, fromage blanc, almond shortbread, is not too sour and rather refreshing making this really easy to indulge after a heavy meal.
