It has been about a year since Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine first opened its doors but till date, this Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine Hong Kong restaurant faces no lack of excited customers and Hello Kitty fans. This Japanese Sanrio character has stolen the hearts of so many since its debut and till date is still one of the world famous icon and loved by many. I am no hello kitty fan but even I am attracted to this kitty with no mouth.
In our queue, we saw a wide variety of customers from different countries coming together for one same reason; Hello Kitty + dim sum! Did you know that Hello Kitty Orchid Garden, Singapore’s first Hello Kitty Cafe is opening this coming May at Changi Airport Terminal 3?
Having tried some of Hello Kitty café with cakes and coffees, they aren’t exactly delicious though they are really very cute. This however is Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine and world’s first Hello Kitty Dim Sum Chinese Cuisine Restaurant which has taken Hong Kong by storm. I must say the food isn’t superly fantastic but it didn’t disappoint either and that all Hello Kitty fans should definitely visit!
Hello Kitty ‘Monkey’ Custard Bun $68HKD (S$12.14) is special edition for the year of Monkey. Cuteness overloaded and this tasted not too bad. I actually felt guilty for taking the first bite! Hahahaa I was a little disappointed for there are about 8 new items on the menu but most of them were unavailable. I only managed to order 3/8 new items.
Hello Kitty ‘Har Gao’ $68HKD (S$12.14) is one of Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine’s bestselling dim sums. How can anyone resist this basket filled with cute shrimp dumplings?
Hello Kitty Turnip Cake $58HKD (S$10.35) is not too bad and her eyes and whiskers are made with squid ink. My girlfriend who is a huge Hello Kitty friend couldn’t stop hyperventilating over each dish and screamed when I tried cutting a piece! LOL
Hello Kitty Steamed Vegetable and Meat Bun $62HKD (S$11.07) caught my attention for it looks kinda like Tsum Tsum Hello Kitty. SOOOOOOOOOO round soooooo adorable! We couldn’t resist taking pics with the buns!
Hello Kitty ‘Char Siew Su’ $48HKD (S$8.57) is a tad too oily and I feel as though I’m eating oil. I wouldn’t recommend ordering this.
This meal cost us over S$55 for 2 and we felt it was a little too expensive. But that aside, we understand the extra effort put into molding and creating these cute Hello Kitty dim sums. If you were to ask me, if this place is worth visiting, I would say YES!
