I hate it that we end work late and that we only have about 2 hours left before all our malls are closed. So it always go down to either eating or shopping. But, thanks to the same folks behind the successful GRUB at Bishan Park and FIX Café at HomeTeamNS, I can now shop first, dine and chat happily late into the night at the cosy GRUB Noodle Bar!
Since their open daily at 7pm, I can first shop and then head over at 9.30pm for a nice dinner! If you would like to chill with your friends instead of going to a pub, GRUB Noodle Bar might be the perfect place since they close at 12.30am! Besides serving enjoyable appetisers that are perfect to go with the craft beers, they also have hot tasty beef noodles and assam laksa!
Their signature Beef Noodles ranges from S$12 to S$19 and you can choose from the 4 different types of beef slice namely pasture-fed beef Brisket S$12 to a melt-in-the-mouth 150-day grainfed Angus Ribeye S$19 to Pasture-fed Rump S$15 to 100% Hormone & Antibiotic-free 150-day grainfed Angus Sirloin S$17. All beef are imported from Australia.
The Beef Noodles comes with free egg noodles in house sauce, 100% beef meatballs, minced beef, mushroom stew and a bowl of wholesome beef broth that is boiled for long hours to extract the full flavour from the beef bones, and a beef of your choice. Savour it happily to the last drop because it contains no MSG or artificial flavours!
Such luxury quality beef selection and at an affordable price! ME LOVE! The free flow of homemade Chinchalok sauce is sooooo good I couldn’t stop dipping my beef in them! Each bite is succulent and flavourful. MODGAM LOVES!
Not a beef lover/eater? I would recommend the Assam Laksa S$13, a perfect balance of sweet, tangy and spicy flavours all working in harmony! The broth is robust and very addictive! Even the ketchup-me couldn’t stop drinking! A whole bowl of yummy fish gravy filled with fresh prawns, cucumber, pineapple chunks that is bound to please!
I cannot stop raving about GRUB Noodle Bar’s creative and delicious appetisers. Don’t be deceived by the outlook of this ordinary looking Kang Kong Salad S$7. Crunchy, addictive and mixed with nonya achar will get you eating nonstop!
Another appetizer that caught my attention is the crunchy deep fried Chicken Drumlets S$9 coated with curry leaves and sesame seeds. Finger licking winner this one!
If I really have to choose a favourite among the appetisers, I will pick the Hokkaido Scallop Tataki S$15 which is supplied freshly from the seafood supplier nearby. This dish reminded me of carpaccio and the thinly-sliced scallops are so fresh and the Mandarin orange so sweet I had to refrain myself from finishing it all by myself! Share mag…share!
Sauteed with beer, toasted ginger and lemongrass broth along with the fresh and juicy Venus Clams S$13, this dish easily became a favourite too!
Steamed in sake, garlic and ginger glaze, these Live Tiger Prawns S$15 are so fresh and juicy! I usually don’t like using my fingers to peel the prawns but I’m willing to peel them off for it’s so fresh their shell comes off easily revealing the big fat meat!
Perfect to go with your beer, this deep fried Baby Cuttlefish S$9 goes well with the basil pesto mayo.
This Soft Shell Crab S$13 is another enjoyable deep fried snack with mayo and seasoning.
So many delicious appetisers to choose from, what did I tell you about chilling with your friends at GRUB Noodle Bar? PERFECT right? Have a yummy beef noodles or assam laksa before chilling the night away with drinks and appetisers.
