I ate so much during my 5D4N HKG trip, its scary! I KID YOU NOT! My friends and I started eating the moment our flight landed! I decided I shall not waste all the eating and compile it here so that you can have an awesome time eating too!
To help save time when you do your cafehopping, I have categorised the cafes according to the MTR tracks.
Part 1 eating in Causeway Bay, Sai Ying Pun, Central, Sheung Wan, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom.
Causeway Bay 銅鑼灣:
– Via Tokyo
Shop nos. 1A-1B, G/F., Leishun Court, 106-126 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay

We went Via Tokyo twice for Wednesdays are known as ‘Reverse Tokyo’ meaning there will be NO matcha desserts served but only flavours like Hojicha and Royal Milk Tea. So if you would like to try all things Matcha, remember to avoid Wednesdays. I love the Hojicha they served and if possible, can i have them all? The Royal Milk Tea however pales in comparison and I wished the taste was more intense.
Right: 3 Flavour Waffle Cup Hkd55 (S$10.22) – Yummy waffle cup filled with red beans, japanese mochi, Hojicha, vanilla and royal milk tea softserve.
Left: Royal Milk Tea Parfait Hkd53 (S$9.85) – Maybe because we have tasted many kinds of milk tea including popular thai milk tea, I feel they need to make the taste a little more intense.
Hojicha Roll Cake Hkd40 (S$7.43) – Couldn’t get enough of this delicious and soft Hojicha cake. Addictive!
Hojicha Cheesecake Hkd40 (S$7.43) – some feel that this is a tad too strong but the taste is so addictive it makes one keeps going back for more.
So we headed back another day to try their signature Matcha delights! Remember to avoid ‘Reverse Tokyo’ every Wednesday if you are going for their Matcha!
Right: Okome Shiratama Azuki Soft Hkd49 (S$9.11) – Matcha is tasty and filled with red beans, japanese mochi, crispy rice stalks drizzled with brown syrup.
Left: Gyokuro Genmaicha Soft Hkd (S$6.88) – This is so delicious I can easily finish a cup myself! There is an addictive roasted popcorn taste-like to it and i LOVE IT!

Causeway Bay MTR Exit: F2
I thought only Froyo is IN in Singapore but it has also quickly become a hot favourite in Hong Kong. Started by popular Hong Kong based Pastry Chef Tony Wong, he decided to make this healthy froyo a little different by dressing them up for they are not only delicious and healthy but also pretty to look at.
Love Green Tea Hkd72 (S$13.38) – Perfect for my matcha loving friends for everything you see here is matcha-nised with Matcha mochi, matcha pudding, matcha melty kiss, chocolate balls and brownies, crumbs and mango.

– Ho Hung Kee Congee and Noodle Shop 何洪记
1204-1205 Hysan Place, 500 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay (take the lift to level 12)
銅鑼灣軒尼詩道500號希慎廣場12樓1204-1205號舖
Causeway Bay MTR Exit: F2
After Smile Yogurt, since we are in the same building as 1 Michelin Star Ho Hung Kee 何洪記, we decided we needed some yummy savouries for the tummies. Known for their iconic Wonton noodles, we knew we had to have them!
Clockwise from top:
Meat Balls Congee Hkd58 (S$10.78) is so delicious for the meatballs are handmade and I think there are about 8 meatballs, generous serving! Rice Noodle Rolls filled with Twisted Cruller Hkd48 (S$8.92) also known as ‘Zha Leong’ is a must order for its a classic HKG dish. I don’t know why something this simple can be this tasty! House Specialty Wonton Noodles in Soup Hkd56 (S$10.41) is another MUST order for the noodles are springy and soup light yet tasty. We also ordered another House Specialty Wonton & Shrimp Dumplings Noodles Hkd86 (S$15.99) which is a little too dry for our liking.

– I Cremeria
1/F Fashion Walk Causeway Bay P125 WTC More Causeway Bay
Causeway Bay MTR Exit: D4
https://www.facebook.com/iCremeria
Everything on I Cremeria menu looks good and their most expensive item would be the very pretty looking Premium Melon Deluxe Softserve Parfait that cost Hkd 220 (S$40.89)! We were so full from a day of eating so we decided to try 2 other best sellers on their menu instead.
Sawatari Tea Daifuku Parfait Hkd53 (S$9.85) – I am not much of a matcha fan but my matcha loving friends love that the rich and intense matcha complemented well with the Hokkaido Milk softserve. They kinda prefer this to Smile Yogurt. I however like the softserve a lot and eat it together with some red bean to complete the taste.
Japanese Premium Melon Soft Cream Parfait with Organic Brown Rice Flake Hkd83 (S$15.43) – Since we are pretty full from all the eating, we decided to try this instead of the same one with half the premium melon. The melon are really sweet and melts in your mouth. Love the crispy brown rice flakes and add a little crunch to the softserve.

Founded in Hokkaido, I first tried these cheese tarts in Tokyo. It is so good even the non-cheese-eater mister ate 2! I was so excited when I learned that it has opened in HKG and bugged my friends to try it too!
Using 3 types of cheese; 2 from Hokkaido and 1 from France, they created such tender and fresh cheese mousse. You can choose to eat it fresh at room temperature, chill it and topped with ice cream or reheat it with an oven! 1pc is Hkd20 (S$3.72) and a box of 6 is Hkd110 (S$20.45).

They are open as early as 6am and close at 5pm so be sure to wake up early if you like to order most of their popular items such as Salted Lava Custard Toast, Shrimp Toast with Sesame and more. I’ve ordered almost all of the popular items, how to lose weight you tell me? I will definitely want to head back to feast some of those popular items along with black sesame liu sha which I’ve forgot to order.
Top left clockwise:
Siu Mai with Black Truffle and Crab Roe Hkd24 (S$4.46) – yummy, French Toast stuffed with red beans & green tea sauce Hkd26 (S$4.83) – not to our liking, Golden Lava French Toast Hkd22 (S$4.09) – liu sha is so delicious MUST have, steamed bun with custard Hkd20 (S$3.72) – also another MUST have, fried rice rolls with XO sauce Hkd28 (S$5.20) – which is surprisingly yummy and has that strong wok hei taste which I love, shrimp toast with sesame Hkd26 (S$4.83) – which is crispy and tasty, fried turnip cakes with XO sauce Hkd28 (S$5.20) – which is rather normal, shrimp dumplings Hkd24 (S$4.46) – generous filling, steamed rice rolls with spring rolls Hkd26 (S$4.83) – crunchy and filled with shrimp fillings!

Congratulations Soft Creme who recently turns 1. We are in awe with the rich and creamy Cereal Milk Softserve filled with generous flamed honey glazed bacon Hkd42 (S$7.80). The bacon bits were crispy and goes very well with the smooth softserve. One more please!

Tin Hau 天后 MTR Exit: B

I have to give it to Loooop for their creativity. We saw many of their cute glow-in-the-dark Halloween ice-creams and were tempted to try. After trying Blue Moon ice-cream Hkd50 (S$9.29), we didn’t think we want to try another flavour. It’s a little hard to describe this pretty ice-cream for the taste is a little acquired, not exactly bubblegum but erm, not to our liking.

– Sinmei Tea 川善茶居

Sheung Wan 上環 MTR Exit: A2
https://www.facebook.com/ Sinmei-Tea-川善茶居-189152487836986/timeline/
It takes a little navigation to find this building though it takes less than 5 minutes from Sheung Wan MTR. Take the lift up to 5th floor and you will see the cafe. I don’t quite understand the crowded area infront of their main door with fans on the floor and a table with plain water servings blocking the main entrance.
Because we have been eating matcha non-stop, I decided to do an intervention and got my friends to try the Hojicha Sizzling Brownie Hkd78 (S$14.50). The vanilla ice-cream is drizzled with Hojicha powder and the exciting moment is where you pour the Hojicha sauce over the ice cream and chocolate brownie, sizzling hot!
——————-
– Little Bao 小包包
G/F, 66 Staunton Street, Central 中環士丹頓街66號地下
Sheung Wan 上環 MTR Exit: A2
We regret not ordering 4 of these or more for it is so delicious! No wonder the restaurant is always jam packed with customers! Did you know you have to climb a rather steep slope to get to Little Bao? I can tell you all the climbing is so worthy for I would soooo do it again to get everyone up there to feast!
Left to right: Pork Belly Hkd78 (S$14.50) – OUR TOP FAVOURITE for the slow-braised pork belly is so tender and juicy topped with leek & shiso red onion salad, sesame dressing, hoisin ketchup. Soft-shell crab bao, which is not on the menu, is cripsy and tasty, has a little shaoxing wine, daikon, crab roe but not something we will order again. Szechuan Fried Chicken Hkd78 (S$14.50) is a little spicy but so delicious and we will definitely go back for more. The chicken is soaked in chinese black vinegar glaze topped with Szechuan mayo and coleslaw, WE LOVE!

Tsim Sha Tsui 尖沙咀 MTR Exit: B1
https://www.facebook.com/tokichi.hk
Hong Kong’s obsession with all things matcha shows no sign of subsiding and so my matcha-crazy friends talked me into queuing this 161yr old family owned brand, Nakamura Tokichi 中村藤吉. It has been the hot talking point of green tea lovers since it arrived in HKG and even thought the q is long, everyone says the food is well worth the wait! To join the q, enter the mall and q infront of the lift where the restaurant sign is at.
Served daily in limited quantities of 15-16 dishes, this Warabimochi Hkd88 (S$16.36) is a MUST HAVE for all matchaholics! I strongly advise you to try it in its original flavour before dipping it into the green tea or brown sugar sauce. Even the non-matchaholic me wants another piece!
Starting from top left: Warabimochi Hkd88 (S$16.36) is a MUST HAVE, the NEW autumn Maruto Parfait Hkd108 (S$20.07) filled with matcha ice cream, sweet potato puree and fresh chestnut cream. I couldn’t really taste the chestnut taste if it wasn’t stated in the menu, this dessert didn’t win my approval. This pretty platter, Kyo no Fukiyose Hkd98 (S$18.22), is made up of matcha and hojicha chiffon cakes, mochi balls, matcha ice cream, sweet red beans and fresh cream. I love the toasted hojicha flavour! The Matcha buckwheat Hkd118 (S$21.93) is so delicious I almost fought my friends off in getting that extra mouthful of soba! Lastly Uji kin ice (half matcha/hojicha) Hkd98 (S$18.22) to end the perfect meal!

Tsim Sha Tsui 尖沙咀 MTR Exit: B2
https://www.facebook.com/Tokyosecret-718128254961585/timeline/
These little one-eyed monsters are made especially for Halloween! Tokyo Secret’s ice cream flavours are kept secret so you will just have to order whatever colours or decors that are appealing to you. We are guessing this slight salty blue Hokkaido milk ice cream Hkd48 (S$8.92) is sea salt flavour. I shall not disclose what I think the rest of the flavours are so that you can do some guessing yourself when you visit the shop.

– Eyescream and Churros Dessert restaurant
Shop B1, G/F, Tak Man Bldg, 29 Tak Man Street, Hung Hom 紅磡德民街29號德民大廈地下B1舖
Hung Hom 紅磡 MTR
https://www.facebook.com/eyescreamandchurros
Traveled all the way to Hung Hom in search of delicacies and Eyescream & Churros Hkd100 for 2 (S$18.59) is among one of them which I look forward to trying. Looking at the colourful churros makes one really happy but we were surprised to find the churros undercooked and the ice-cream tasted similar to the ones sold at Mc Donalds. Was disappointed and if only it taste as good as it looks.

– Iconic Hotdogs
Shop C106A, Whampoa Building, 97 Baker Street
紅磡必嘉街97號黃埔唐樓C座106A舖
Hung Hom 紅磡 MTR
https://www.facebook.com/ICONIC.H/timeline
This is one of the small German Bakery in Hung Hom that has made a name for itself for being one of the cities best Hot Dogs! Just by looking at the menu, I am in awe with the variety. Foie Gras Dog, Evil Cheese Quartet, Unagi Dog, salmon, turkey, lamb… wooooah, I am definitely in for a treat!
Foie Gras Dog Hkd108 (S$20.07) – how luxurious to have this on your hotdog! Would I pay another $20 for a hotdog like this? YES I WOULD! The caramelized onions pairs really well with the foie gras and hotdog.
Evil Cheese Quartet Hkd48 (S$8.92) is filled with cheese, cheese, cheese and more cheese; melted cheese, blue cheese sauce, chili cheddar and cheese kancker. Me approve!!

– Mammy Pancake 媽咪雞蛋仔
Shop K1B, G/F, 36 Man Tai Street,Hung Hom
紅磡民泰街36號地下K1B舖
Hung Hom 紅磡 MTR
Many Hongkongers say Mammy Pancake is one of the best when you talk about eggettes, HKG local snack! I remember eggettes used to come in original, chocolate or peanut flavour but after 5 years of not visiting HKG, eggettes now comes in assorted flavours and in savoury form too!
2 colour sweet potato eggettes Hkd22 (S$4.09) are pretty addictive and chewy.
This green tea egglets Hkd25 (S$4.65) are plump and chewy. I never knew matcha and red beans make such lovely partners. Thumbs up!
