Me and my friends wasted no time and started eating the moment our flight landed!! To help save time when you do your cafehopping, I have categorised the cafes according to the MTR tracks.
Part 1 eating in Causeway Bay, Sai Ying Pun, Central, Sheung Wan, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom: http://www.modgam.com/cafehopping-eating-local-in-hkg/
Let’s continue my eating journey here Part 2:
Yau Ma Tei 油麻地:
– Eat With Me
Shop 8, G/F, Block 2, Tsui Yuen Mansion, No. 2-20 Kwong Wa Street 旺角廣華街2-20號翠園大樓二期地下8號舖
Yau Ma Tei 油麻地 MTR Exit: A2

Instagram worthy desserts that looks really pretty but fail to impress me with the taste. The owners are friendly and would suggest items on menu for you to try. I would love to maybe head back to give their savory eggettes a shot on my next visit.
Left: Mrs Hkd88 (S$16.36) – Horlick ice cream milkshake topped with egg waffles, macarons, marshmallow, pocky and rainbow. I’m not a fan of horlick and I think it looks prettier than the taste.
Right: Pretty Woman Hkd48 (S$8.92) – Strawberry ice cream served with cookies and eggettes.

Mido Cafe (美都餐室)
G/F, 63 Temple Street, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon 九龍油麻地廟街63號
Yau Ma Tei 油麻地 MTR Exit: C
Started back in 1950s, Mido Cafe is one of the oldest cafe in Hong Kong. This nostalgic cafe was also featured in various Hong Kong movies! We knew we had to try some authentic HKG style breakie and decided this is the place. Was a little disappointed for the first floor was closed and they do not allow photography, we were ushered to 2nd level.
Ham with macaroni in broth Hkd38 (S$7.06), Pork chop with tomato sauce Hkd58 (S$10.78) and French Toast Hkd22 (S$4.09). It was a good meal though it wasn’t extremely fantastic but I like the environment, very retro and cozy.

Kwun Tong 觀塘:
– Gudetama Cafe by Izumi Curry
YATA, LG/F APM Millennium City 5, 418 Kwun Tong Road
Kwun Tong 觀塘 MTR Exit: A2
https://www.facebook.com/izumicurryhk
More Gudetama goodness can be found here where I ordered over 11 Gudetama Dim Sum: http://www.modgam.com/gudetama-dimsum-icon/
My friends and I were lucky, we are 4th in line I think and we queue about 30 mins or so and while waiting for our food, we were surprised to see the very long queue formed. Back to the café, it is filled with everything Gudetama; chairs shaped of egg shells, cushions, mugs and pillows. I wanted to purchase the Gudetama pillow for its so cute but unfortunately its not for sale.
Starting left: Charsiew Curry Noodles Hkd79 (S$14.68) which is udon noodles and tasted rather average if you ask me, the cutest looking of them lot is the Special Omelette rice with bacon and sausages Hkd99 (S$18.40) which only looks cute but not yummy for the rice is too dry and bacon soft. Lastly is the Hamburger Steak and Cheese Curry Rice Hkd129 (S$23.98) is our favourite! Japanese sweet curry with the generous melted cheese topped with omelette and beef bits fried rice, we approve!

Wan Chai 灣仔:
– The Pawn
2/F, 62 Johnston Road
Wan Chai 灣仔 MTR Exit: B2
http://www.thepawn.com.hk/
Weekend is gona be awesome for we are heading to The Pawn for their weekend brunch! Housed in one of Hong Kong’s most iconic landmarks and considered a historical site dating back to 1888, The Pawn brings you an exciting restaurant and bar concept in a unique space that was once the famous Woo Cheong pawnshop. After extensive renovations in the summer of 2014, The Pawn reopened in collaboration with celebrated British chef, Tom Aikens and now offers both traditional and modern British cuisine across two floors, the ‘Botanicals’ bar and second floor ‘Kitchen’. The third floor, rooftop ‘Farm’ provides a unique outdoor event space in the midst of produce grown by the chefs. I love the interior designs and every floor has a different artsy feel to it. I can laze the entire afternoon here!
Choose from 2 weekend Set Brunch:
– Set 1: Hkd498 (S$92.56) per person with free flowing soft drinks, orange juice and smoothies.
– Set 2: Hkd598 (S$111.15) per person with free flowing Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial, Bloody Mary, cider, soft drinks, house red and white wines, house draft beer and house fruit punch.
*Kids up to the age of 12 eat for free (one child per adult). Additional children will be charged at Hkd248 (S$46.09) per person.
For this value-for-money price you get to choose from the variety of starters and you can even order one each to share, choice of main, milkshake, smoothie before heading down to a wide variety of yummy desserts!
For starters we ordered 1 of everything, Avocado on wheat toast – is soooooo delicious I will gladly accept another tray of toast, Coronation chicken salad with gem lettuce and almonds – very addictive with huge chunks of chicken, Lobster macaroni cheese – not only smells nice but easily make it into our top favourite list and Market fish ceviche – carpaccio-like and tasted heavenly (which is not shown here). We also ordered 4 healthy yummylicious smoothies; Mango lassi, Banana and oat smoothie, Blueberry and yoghurt smoothie and Mixed berry, banana and yoghurt smoothie.
Tadahhh the mains where we chose 1 of each on the menu, Eggs Royale, Roasted sirloin steak with yorkshire pudding and horseradish cream, Herb-roasted chicken and Full English breakfast with homemade sausages, black pudding, bacon, fried egg, baked beans, mushrooms. Portion is so generous we are so glad there are 4 of us to share!
Every corner on this floor is picture worthy and perfect for you to do all your ootds and chill the afternoon away. We are spoilt for choices for it is like a dessert buffet where one can choose their own sweets and drinks. Pick anything you like from Lemon meringue pie to Milk chocolate and caramel tart to Calvados apple tart, chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream to blueberry muffin to raspberry poppy seed muffin to sticky toffee pudding to new york cheesecake and more!

– Oddies Foodies
Shop 1F, G/F, 149 Wan Chai Road 灣仔灣仔道149號1F地舖
Wan Chai 灣仔 MTR Exit: A3
https://www.facebook.com/oddiesfoodies
Many young creative dessert stores and eateries have since pair local favourite snack Eggettes also known as 鷄蛋仔into their menu. Oldies Foodies has also pair this favourite local snack with their Italian low-fat gelato. I have tried Mammy eggettes and a few others but Oddies Foodies has the best eggette! Soft yet crispy and super addictive!
The Mob Hkd55 (S$10.22) – Black sesame mochi eggettes served with Italian low-fat gelato, apple yuzu jelly, homemade matcha ice cream, citrus crunchy flakes and drizzled with rich matcha sauce. I love the eggettes so much we decided to join in the queue again to try their kimchi eggettes!
Kimochi Eggette Hkd22 (S$4.09) – Cripsy, chewy and plumped with mochi and kimchi. LOVE IT!!! I wish we had stomach to try more of their flavours. Oddies Foodies, I’ll be back for more!

Repulse Bay 淺水灣:
Classified
Shop 107, 1/F The Pulse 28 Beach Road Repulse Bay Hong Kong 淺水灣海灘道28號The Pulse 1樓107號舖
near Hong Kong Station MTR Exit: D
http://www.classifiedfood.com/eng/
We didn’t know how to get here so we thought the easiest way to take a quick nap and rest our tired feet is to share a cab. LOL how not to grow fat like this? So we came to Repulse Bay and oh my, it is so different from the city life and we even spend time taking pictures at the beach. Play the sand a little and just rest our mind while watching the sea and sunset!
Named by Time magazine as one of the Top 5 Restaurants for Cheese Lovers, Classified has expanded to nine outlets throughout Hong Kong. This European-style casual al fresco dining is perfect for everyone to enjoy their afternoon and evenings away with gourmet coffees, handcrafted breads and delicious meal while catching up. This restaurant is really pretty with a tinge of Moroccan style and a carefree swing greeting you as you enter. My only complain? The dark dim lights which makes photography very challenging.
We started off with some really healthy smoothies to detox cos as you know, we have been eating A LOT! We had Refreshing Detox Hkd58 (S$10.78) – coconut water, avocado, spinach, mixed berries, organic raw cacao powder and organic hemp seeds, Fresh Greens Hkd58 (S$10.78) – cucumber, avocado, organial spirulina, honey and freshly squeezed apple juice, Mint Berry Kale Hkd60 (S$11.15) – organic kale, mixed berries, banana, fresh mint and organic bee pollen, Berry-licious Protein Hkd (S$10.78) – mixed berries, banana, organic hemp seeds, organic bee pollen and Growing Naturals oragnic vanilla rice protein powder.
We tried some sides, small plates and mains and this is what we had: Truffle fries Hkd45 (S$8.36) – truffles and fries are a perfect mix, need I say more?, BBQ pulled pork with pickles Hkd50 (S$9.29) – is da bomb! the marinated pork is flavourful and very addictive, Pan-fried salmon with Borlotti bean stew Hkd180 (S$33.46) – fresh salmon that is juicy and skin crispy, Gnocchi, Nduja with caramelised red onion Hkd120 (S$22.30), Quinoa salad add shrimp Hkd110 (S$20.45) – filled with cucumber, spinach, green beans, avocado and toasted sesame seeds – healthy, crunchy and delicious and lastly Crispy fried chicken club Hkd108 (S$20.07) – chicken club sandwich with fries, bacon, cheese, tomato, chipotle mayo!

Causeway Bay 銅鑼灣:
茶之環 Cha-no-wa
B1, City’super, Times Square, 1 Matheson Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
Causeway Bay 銅鑼灣 MTR Exit: A
Cha-no-wa from Hiroshima Japan is known for its delicious range of matcha desserts. I am no matcha fan but I finish a roll of this delicious Matcha Roll and even offer to lick the wrapper clean!
This luxury doesn’t come cheap and a Matcha Roll Cake cost Hkd150 (S$27.88), expensive I know but after one bite, you will soon realized why it is so costly and yet you’ll be willing to buy another roll! It is so soft and fluffy with generous matcha cream oozing out with each bite!
