Min Yee, co-owner and pastry chef, together with her husband, Pang, opened P. Bistro in 2013. Min Yee’s love for artisanal food and pastries earned her a Le Grand Diplôme and Master certification from Le Cordon Bleu Paris and Ecole Lenôtre respectively, two of the world’s top culinary schools. I am excited to try their Asian-inspired Western fare and French classics.
Tangy Pomelo Salad S$12 is a refreshing treat while waiting for our mains. I love the generous chunks of pomelo mixed with cherry tomatoes, shallots, coriander and sliced chili. I like!
I kept staring at this plate of weird dry looking slices and was wondering if it’s dry orange skin or some weird meat and was very surprised when I was told its actually Fugu Puffer Fish! This delicious Japanese Grilled Puffer Fish with Flying Fish Roe S$12 tasted like ‘bak kwa’, chewy and addictive.
Kuhlbarra Barramundi White Fish Fillet S$26 is tasty and fresh and like the subtle lemon butter sauce that goes very well with it.
We were told that this Asian Red Curry Seafood Pasta S$24 is really spicy so my chili-loving friends were really looking forward to it. They were disappointed for they didn’t think it was spicy at all so the ketchup-loving me went for it and true enough, it wasn’t!
Love the crispy skin of this Duck Confit S$28 dish and the meat is tender except that it is a tad too salty. Tasted just right when paired with the red berry gastrique. Love the sides; roasted potatoes and mesclun.
This has to be my favourite main of the nite; Nyonya Dory S$18. Though it is a little too spicy for the ketchup-loving me but the sweet and spicy Peranakan sauce is really addictive! I will head back just to have this again!
Dessert time and my favourite is the Coconut Pandan Chiffon Cake S$6.50 which is really moist and fluffy with a welcoming pandan fragrance. The Passionfruit Tart S$4 is a tad too sour for me. Love the fudgy chocolate and the crunchy base of the Mont Blanc S$8.50.
I love the crunchy and addictive Palmiers which is going at only S$1! Perfect as snack or over tea. I need to dabao some home!
Ending our lovely dinner with a cuppa of coffee and latte served with cute art works. Star wars fans, can you spot Darth Vader here? I have a few favourites and I guess I’ll be back to indulge and recommend them to my friends.
