Hmmm… I guess its about time I get down and stimulate that discipline in me. I wonder if it’s the age that is catching up quickly or if it’s that little vain bug in me that is finally awake. Just a month-ish ago I had my first aesthetic procedure with a mind-blowing fear factor 8/10 and I am so happy with the results!
This time, I am about to commit myself to something different and since I have to pen my journey down, I am even more convinced this is for real! 12 years ago I lost 14kg for my wedding by madly forcing myself to only eat meehoon soup for a year, swim and brisk walk with zero ice-cream, chocolates, bubble tea, starbucks etc. It was so extreme it was so suffering and bad. After the wedding, I put on weight badly after caving in to one dessert and the rest is history.
WHY now? Mainly for health reasons and to lose weight happily so that I not only feel good but look better too? I can then pose more confidently in my fashion ootds? Meet my gorgeous dietician Jaclyn Reutens (I’ll ask her for a wefie together the next time) from Aptima Nutrition who is going to work closely with me and helping me achieve my goal.
While waiting to register, I looked around the clinic and found so many interesting reads yet at the same time feeling really nervous. I was wondering if my dietician is going to make me eat fruits for meals or ask me to stop eating carbo altogether or that I can no longer have my desserts.
Jaclyn has a toned physique and looks all womanly and chic, not what I thought a dietician would look like. haha Anyways, my consultation with Jaclyn was awesome for it was relaxing yet informative. Did you know the number 1 rule for losing weight is to eat breakfast within the first hour after you wake up?? #forreal I learned quite a bit from Jaclyn and after learning about my eating habits and schedule, she planned my meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner on the spot!
I am very very surprised at how reasonable the meal plan is and that it is easily available and achievable at hawker centres and food courts! We talked about how much weight I would like to lose and I thought 10kg for starters would be a more realistic goal. Jaclyn was encouraging and said if I were to follow the meal plan followed by light exercises, I should be able to lose 10kg in 3 months! Which is why when she asked how strict I would like her to be, I replied very! Since I wanted to take this up and if I can really lose 10kg in 3 months, I might as well be very strict and go all the way!
This is basically how my meal should look like everyday; 2 veggies, chicken breast, fish or pork with half a bowl of rice and a slice of fruit. Interesting right? I’m a rice, potato and cheese lover so I am not too sure how I will deal with just having half or slightly lesser than half a bowl of rice for lunch and dinner.
