I started this blog with the intention of sharing my crazy and fun fashion loots and outfits of the day along with random updates and places to eat. Beauty accidentally came knocking and I panicked! Yes, I did! The only cosmetics I know consist of makeup base, sunblock, foundation, blusher, lip balm and sometimes mascara. I love my simple skincare consisting of Hada Labo toner and lotion, Ginvera exfoliation and my cannot-do-without weekly regime of masks.
I am pretty much a simple and fuss free gal when it concerns beauty. I never see the need of learning the art of makeup cos my bestie is good at it and she helps me with eyeshadow and eyeliner. I don’t really have the urge of dolling up and I prefer everything simple and easy. I only started taking care of my skin around 23 years old and doing the very basic makeup at the age of 26!!! Luckily the skin didn’t turn out too ‘jialat’. I LOVE taking good care of my skin, keeping it moisturised and supple yet I never see the need to learn how to makeup.
p/ssss: I feel kinda honoured. Never in my entire 30+ years of life has anyone asked if my double eye-lids are surgically done nor if I wore contact lens that allow my eyeballs to look bigger till I was exposed to the beauty blogging world. LOL my eyelids are au natural, you should see my mum’s! I hardly even wear contact lens, next time I’ll bare them for for you. Many makeup artist friends of mine love my eyes and say it’s the easiest to colour. I shall not disappoint you and start learning ok?
Except the occasional breakouts and my big pores, my skin is pretty ok. I have to thank DRx for my very much improved skin since they started sponsoring me in June 2013. Friends are always complimenting about my glowing skin and telling me I’m getting fairer and fairer. However this sweet-affair will soon end for I need one that can help take care of my skin constantly and not as and when. I love their products and facial pampering but I cannot afford having my skin not care for in months and still stay loyal.
I always wonder how Elrica has this gorgeous glowing skin after she has finish doing her makeup. Besides having super great skin, I always wonder and she told me a good foundation is very important. The only foundation I know for the past many many years has always been ZA. Affordable and has great coverage and it suits my skin so I stayed loyal to it. I never quite understand the crowd at Sephora for I don’t speak cosmetics… … till now! I’ve found two new best friends; Sephora and Make Up For Ever! I can’t believe I spent an hour in Sephora trying on products and going goo-ga-ga on eyeshadows, primer and trying to stop myself from buying more!
I have blogging to thank because after being exposed to so many different beauty brands, products, cosmetics, makeup artists and beauty bloggers, I am officially vain! LOL I admire people who are vain cos they are the ones who bother dolling up and looking good. It took me sooooo damn long to realise I need to learn the art of makeup! YES, I finally realise I need a gorgeous dolled up face to go along with my crazy hair colours and fun dressing. My 10mins beauty regime (toner, moisturiser and sunblock + primer, foundation and blusher + styling hair) has now turn into 45mins-1hr beauty regime! OMFG!!!
I am still trying to get used to this new beauty regime but the results are amazing! I cannot stop looking at myself in the mirror. A simple blue tone primer help takes away the redness on my sensitive skin, my blusher is now pretty and obvious!A simple step like this can make wonders! Dang!!! I really have a lot to learn when it comes to makeup.
I have to thank HighBrow for my gorgeous brows and eyeliner thus I’ll always have great looking eyes and brows!
I still have so much to learn (YIKES):
– Falsies! Tried once but its so damn difficult.
– Eyeliner! It smudges badly and I can never draw it right, but I now have HighBrow to thank for the semi-permanent ones!
– Lipstick! I hate my thick lips and I haven’t found any colours that are suitable for me.
– Eyeshadow! Have to learn how to blend colours.
I shall aim to learn the following before I get too adventurous and go into highlighting and contouring shading? LOL It is never too late to start learning the art of beauty for having great skin allows you to canvas better art!
