You might think you have seen these desserts before or find them very familiar and yes, maybe you might even link them to Karafuru Desserts? The Japanese café with very colourful and gorgeous looking parfaits and eclairs?
After closing for half a year, the team is back with new management, new menu, new direction and is now known as Kumoya! The cafe is also in the process of applying for Halal certificate so that our Muslim friends can also enjoy these desserts soon. I also love that Kumoya serves savoury and sweet pancakes along with other snacks like truffle fries.
Iced Matcha Latte S$$7 and Iced Hojicha S$$6; love my hojicha with the yummy roasted fragrance but my friend didn’t quite like her matcha for it’s a little too milky.
Tempura Soft Shell Crab S$17.90 was great but when paired with pancakes, it felt a little too dry. So we tried dipping the pancakes into the wasabi mayo thinking it might reduce the dryness and add some flavour to the plain pancakes but nope, bad choice. LOL I guess maybe we are so used to pancakes with maple syrup so we suggested having maple syrup along with the wasabi mayo dip for a nice sweet and savoury combi.
We preferred this Karaage Chicken S$16.90 because the tomato shoyu sauce is delicious and quite addictive if you ask me.
If you want something refreshing, I strongly recommend you their Yuzu Fresh Soda S$7.50! It’s so good, I love it love it!
May I present you the oishii star of Kumoya; their plated soft serves that are super Instagram worthy!
Tiramisu Sweet Pancakes S$15.90; buttery pancakes, souffle cheesecake which is so delicious, brownie, chocolate sable crumbles and drizzled with cold expresso…ohhhh yumsss… and did I mention gold dusted almond flakes?
Despite seeing this everywhere on Instagram, we had to order too cos it looks so good. With the same soufflé cheese cake which is so delicious, together with vanilla pudding, dango, sakura syrup and berries, I’m pretty sure Sakura Yogurt Parfait S$14.90 is a popular hit with many. I was a little disappointed that there is no black sesame flavour available this time for I am a huge fan! Hopefully Kumoya will consider having a seasonal flavour in the near future.
Bite sized eclairs which are alcohol-free going at S$3 each, S$8.50 for 3 pieces, S$16.50 for 6 pieces and S$31.50 for 12 pieces. This is perfect for now you get to try more flavours! The owner told us these flavours are handpicked by him which is also the best-selling flavours.
Additional S$0.50 will be charged for a takeaway box.
9 of the best-selling flavours includes: Yuzu, Sakura, Café Au Lait, Hazelnut Chocolate, Ichigo Chantilly, Blackforest, Matcha, Passion Fruit and Pistachio.
