Open on this year August 2014, Clover Garden is a restaurant serving European cuisine with Asian influences, delicately crafted by Head Chef, Shawn Yan. Located at the lobby of Hotel Clover, this 44-seater restaurant offers a cozy and intimate dinning atmosphere, perfect for couples and small gatherings. Signature dishes include the Pan Fried Crab Cake, Duck confit, Braised Lamb Shank and Coconut Pannacotta which I will also share after the special festive menu.
As we march into the jolly season, Clover Garden will also launch a special festive menu available from 1st Dec 2014 to 10th January 2015. Priced at S$42/pax, diners can look forward to a scrumptious 4-course meal.
Festive Salad – Start off with an appetizing teaser that would get your taste buds excited. Can you tell which is the yellow fin tuna sashimi, the watermelon or beet root? Complete with a generous scoop of black caviar.
Soup – I love cauliflower on its own but I didn’t expect to fall in love with this delicious bowl of cream of cauliflower, served with prosciutto crisp, poached egg and croutons.
Entree – Choose from a selection of Beer Brined Turkey Breast, triple-textured Tasmanian Salmon or 48-Hour Sous Vide Beef Short Ribs.
Triple-textured Tasmanian Salmon – An Asian touch of cold soba, nashi pear puree and grilled king oyster mushrooms paired with this delightful triple texture Tasmanian salmon is delightful to eat.
48-Hour Sous Vide Beef Short Ribs – This has to be my favourite dish! Not only is the dish cute looking with the baby carrots garnish, the lovely truffle smell got me really excited as well. The meat was delightfully tender and goes very well with the red wine reduction sauce. The truffle mashed potato in my opinion are zeee best!
Dessert – My dessert picture looks a little glutinous rice because I left my camera at work and had to make do with my hard to focus Samsung s5 phone. No dinner is complete without a sweet treat! This dessert is a familiar Christmas sweet treat, a traditional Christmas pudding, freshly baked with a selection of dried fruits, cranberries and nuts. Paired with homemade vanilla ice cream and whiskey sauce.

As promised, sharing some of the signature dishes that I get to try.
Pan Fried Crab Cake S$11.00 – The spicy peanut sauce and the cucumber relish reminded me of Thai dishes. The water chestnut brings crunch to each bite and the coriander completes the taste.
Tuna Tempura S$12.00 – Fried tuna wrapped in seaweed brings a little crunch and the delicious sweet mango salsa helps ease that tingle off the wasabi mayo.
Braised Lamb Shank S$22.00 – I am not a fan of the lamb but the meat is so soft and tender! The portion is huge and value for money! You are in for a surprise for the lamb shank is served with truffle mash and vegetable fritters. It is no wonder this is one of Clover Garden’s signature dish.
Duck Confit S$22.00 – This is my personal favourite among the rest of the entrees. The duck confit is marinated with Chinese 5 spice but the flavours are not overly spice and yet addictive. The meat is tender and it is served on top of the delicious truffle mash! I can easily finish another serving! Scoop a little truffle mash onto the red cabbage and eat it together with the sweet lychee gastique! Foodgasm!
Mocha Pot De Creme S$10.00 – An expresso infused chocolate mousse that is really thick and yummy. It has more chocolate taste than espresso which is good for me since I am not a huge fan of anything bitter.
Coconut Pannacotta S$10.00 – This is my favourite dessert because the delicious gula melaka sauce paired with the fresh coconut pannacotta is way too yummy! Perfect match if you ask me.
